Barnet Voice Activities And Support...

Do you have any great ideas that could improve our website?

Space 2B
A Drop-in with a Difference

Space 2B

We run a drop-in called 'Space 2B' and that means exactly what it says, a space for you to be within'.

Two afternoons a week you will get a choice of different activities depending on who is there to run them. So, it can be a bit of a 'lucky dip' - from hand massage, art, knitting and crochet, relaxation, song writing and singing, jigsaws, games, manicures, felting, card making or even sort out your mobile phone & computer problems!

More importantly we offer SUPPORT! It's a safe place to meet people, have a chat, a drink and a biscuit, a place where you can totally be yourself and not have anyone judge you. Click What A 'Space 2B' Means To Me... and read what our visitors say...

A visitor's testimonial -

"I have visited the 'Space 2B' on several occasions and was struck by how great it was - offering people just what they need, a place to come and be welcomed and be themselves. It's a service that's hard to find these days so well done to all of you who make that possible".

Finding it hard to cope?

Then why not come along to our Support Group? We realise that support is very important when you are feeling vulnerable and unable to function clearly.

Barnet Voice Support

Would you like the opportunity to share how you feel with others? People who can understand because they also live with mental health distress?

The support group is a place that you can feel safe, make new friends, share and learn from others about coping with mental health distress and find out about where to get help in the community. You can come along when it suits you and as often as you like.

The group is held in the patient information room, just past the reception in Finchley Memorial Hospital weekly on Tuesday afternoons 2.00pm-3.30pm (except public holidays). If you would like to know more on this or any other information then please phone 020 3475 1314.

See the map below for directions and visit the TFL Journey Planner for travel information.

Creative Writing Group

Jon Attril

This very successful, self-funded group, is run by published author Jon Attril. Creative writing is well known as being of great value in releasing the creative side for those with mental health problems.

According to Wikipedia, creative writing is a composition of any type of writing at any time primarily in the service of such needs as: the need for keeping records of significant experience; the need for sharing experience with an interested group, or the need for free individual expression, which contributes to mental and physical health.

So, if you're interested then please do get in touch and give us a call.

The group is on Fridays from 2-4pm at a venue near Finchley Central Station.
